Sputtering on acceleration
I have a 97 Electra Glide Standard. I have been having some sputtering when I accelerate or try to stomp the gas on the bike. It has been doing it off and on but lately has gotten worse. It seems to do it more when there is a passenger or if I am going up a hill. I thought it was bad gas but I have put fuel injection cleaner in it and it seems to work itself out but the last time I rode it, the injection cleaner didn't help. I just replaced the coil on it and still same thing. Can any tell me what should be the next step? I have done all my own work but this has got me stumped!

Would the crank position sensor cause a mis-fire at all rpms? I have a 04 that I've upgrade from 88ci to 98ci and seen then it has has a mis-fire. I've changed spark plugs and spark wires, that helped but didn't fix the problem completely.

Yeah, mine has no codes on it either. I will take a look at the crank position sensor and go from there. The only other thing I can think of is the ignition losing a connection maybe. It sputters to the point of almost dying in the middle of the road.
