I found the tongs. Just don't quite understand how he mounted it. Understand he bought some pins that would slide down over the shift rod. What kind of pins?

I know this is an old thread, but i've been staring at that photo off and on for a year, and i just HAVE to add this to my bike. I just ordered the tongs off ebay (goddamn hard to find at that) once they come in, im gonna hit home depot or Ace to figure out the hardware. seems to me, the simplest method would be some kinda of small pipe hanger or hose clamp type fitting slide over the shifter rod.
