Default Weather and you PC V

What are you guy doing to keep your PC V dry in rain or washing. How long do they last under the seat.Do they have a shelf life?????? As far as under the seat? Might be a stupid question. Do they last 3,5,
10 years?

To my knowledge they are a sealed unit so weater or washing will not cause any damage. I would recomend using some dielectric grease on the conections though. will help keep the contacts from coroding.

I was told by a friend that they AREN'T sealed...... I am not sure so to be on the safe side, when washing the bike, I remove my Corbin (to protect the leather) and cover the wires/ PC V with a plastic bag. Maybe over kill, but has worked for the last 2 years without and problems.

Be Safe JIM

I have the PC-V w/Autotune.... some parts do seem well sealed, but where the autotune wires connect, no seal at all... I would silicone around all the connections just incase, if it needs 2 come apart silicon will do the job

Put dielectric grease on the connectors and forget about it. Mine has been under my seat for 6 years. My biek gets washed every single week.

Dielectric grease has worked well for me wash my bike by hand mostly only hose when its been in the rainy muddy road grime. After having a connection come loose I also put liquid electrical tape slowly a few coats at each connection with the auto tune and the pcv connections to hold them in place and seal them off, it can be removed real easy if need be.

Works well, dont wash bike, don't remove seat. PLEDGE only. JK it is ok and works well , just dont hit it with high pressure. Bikini wash will do. Peace, Davis

I can attest to the PC-V not having water tight connections. Had one on my Dyna Street Bob and after washing the bike ran horrible. First happened right after I installed the unit. Checked the connector and there was water in there. Well noted problem on the Dyna forum here. Wrapped the connector in plastic and tucked up into the back of the fuse box. Always worried me riding in the rain. Glad I now have the PowerVision on my new King!!
