I modified my original post to make more since? HA, I hope. However you need to read your manual but hard to tell what you have. I have a Harley SE that I wash and oil. I just use motor oil. That what I have thrown on the lawn mowers for the last 45 years and they last forever. I have a new take off filter system but do not have the fittings for the hoses for the vent system. It is original. When I read my manual for my 04 it say the original was washable with warm water and detergent. Blow from inside out with LOW air pressure and not to oil.

Thanks for the info, after I posted this I went and looked at the side of the box and saw where the oil was not included with the kit. I have some K&N left over from my other bike. I will use that if the filter was not preoiled.
