Chances are, you got a old tire. Be careful when you buy tires. There's a way to determine manufacture dates.

Determine the tire's manufacture date by locating the four raised numbers following the tire's Department of Transportation (DOT) code. The first two numbers indicate the week of manufacture. The second two indicate the year. The date code 2608 designates a manufacture date of July 2008. Older tires break down with age, so when buying tires, be sure to check the manufacture date. Do not buy tires that are more than five years old.
