Default LED lighting installed!

I bought a LED lighting kit from Custom Dynamics (a featured vendor)

It took a couple of days to get it installed, but it was straight-forward.

I am thrilled with the effect.

Attached are pics with the lights off and on. Its hard to get a decent pic of the glow effect so dont kick me over picture quality.

Tim

Looks good, how did you do the front wheel? Are the wires all hidden?

I must have want the red! In Pa it's now legal to ride with them on Motorcycles only! House Bill 901. So local LEO's are finding this out the embarssing way by going to court and being tossed out due to new law.

That's a heck of alot of light!

Could you be more specific as to what (how many) was installed and where?

I installed some Kuryakyn Lizard lights on my Fat Boy and the effect is nothing like that!

Ok,

one at a time....

Lighting the front wheel is easy. The lights attach to the inside of the calipers. Plenty of room. The wires are all hidden (routed with the brake lines and zip tied with black ties)

Actually, all the lights are hidden too. The only one can see is the one above the tranny, but you gotta be looking for it. I put the switch in a hole in the bracket that holds the air valve for the rear shocks. Totally hidden and clean. I got power from an always hot connector under the left side cover that wasnt doing anything. A blade terminal fit right in.

Now for the specifics....

I bought the nine light setup. It comes with four 5-led lights, three 3-led light and two 4-led lights. They are blue with chrome cases. I put the four 5-light ones under the tank one over each head on both sides. There is a recessed ledge on the right side that is PERFECT for holding the lights. The left side is not quite as handy, but it is do-able.

one 3-light unit when behind the air cleaner pointing down. One 4-lite unit behind the horn, pointing in. (I actually would have preferred another 3 light pointing down, but i only had 3). One 4 light on the frame plate behind the rear jug, pointng at the tranny, and one 3-light unit on each brake caliper.

I think I might buy one more 4 light unit for mounting on the cross-piece in front of the motor, above the regulator, to light up the front. and I am also getting some 4 inch neon to light up behind the bags. I tried a number of confuguration and I just cant get happy with the light back there with LEDs.

The installation was pretty easy. I removed the seat, bags and side covers. The light pods mount with some 2-sided tape and it means BUSINESS! You clean the area with alcohol, swab it with some adhesive promoter (included) and when the tape hits it, its done. Make sure you get them where you want them! I got the left side front tank light a little too far back, so I thought I would remove it and move it up. WRONG.! its there to say.

the wires were all run under the tank and into the included terminal blocks, which worked great. The only splice I had to do was I ran a wire from the teminal blocks all the way to the steering head, and then wired both caliper lights up to that. Other than that, all wires were plenty long enough, to not have to splice or solder anyting.

I highly recommend the kit if anyone is thinking about it.

Tim
