I have a 2015 Slim with passing/aux lamps. We like the look of the stock lights but I know there are benefits to leds.
We been going back and forth between the Daymakers and a led drop in like the DK Customs. Has anyone used the DK Customs leds? I have led replacements in my Explorer and there have been issues with them. So that makes me a little apprehensive. I would like to hear some opinions if anyone has experience with them.
I like the visibility of the Daymakers but I am not 100% sure about the look. Does anyone have any pics of black Daymakers on a Slim?
I know it is my bike and its is up to me. (avoiding the its your bike comments lol) I am just looking for some thoughts. I will add a pic but I cant make it bigger.
I personally am not a fan of the drop in LED light. I have friends who have tried them and while they put out more light they did not feel it was focused enough. there are comparisons that show the light from any bulb must line up with the reflector equal to the original halogen bulb. I started with a brighter PIAA headlight. Not enough light from my 5 3/4" headlight so I went with the daymaker. There are many alternatives to the daymaker. I bought mine from Boardtracker HD. I love it, it was worth the extra money for me. I put the PIAA in my street glide and am satisfied with it but it is the larger 7" v the smaller 5 3/4". Again, this is my personal opinion and to each his own. There are many threads here on the forum you can search as well. Here are pics on my Night Train.

My advice would be to go with a Speaker Evo2 - lots less than a Daymaker, and made by the same Co w/ better warranty. If you do a lot of night riding with sharp turns, Speaker has a new Evo designed just for Motorcycles, that steers the beam around corners as you lean into them. It's the 8790, and I can state from experience it DOES work!... But it had better for $640.
As far as looks, the black versions pretty much hide all the lenses from more that 10 feet away while the "chrome" versions are very visible from a distance.

Reason: Do I need one?
The LED bulbs from DK are awesome. I've had mine about 6 months now and no issues.
Good to know! Just dropped mine in and while it is a lot brighter than stock, I haven ridden with it yet. Seems like a great value, I guess time will tell.
