Try California Creations in Santa Rosa CA, I have had one of there jackets for about 15 years now, fits a little tighter than it used to but has held up very well over the years.
I've got a fox creek bomber-style jacket. VERY thick and heavy. Comfortable, and well made, with heavy-duty hardware. A thread has come loose on the cuff - spoke to FC, they'll happily fix it whenever I have a chance to send it in for repair. High quality product for sure.
The FC is so thick that I'm actually looking for a second jacket (probably Langlitz or Schott) that's slightly lighter weigh/cooler. I still plan to wear the FC for years to come.
I've been very pleased with the two Fox Creek jackets i've had - heavy leather and heavy brass zippers along with pockets that are lined with a heavy/durable liner that won't rip thru like so many other jackets do. The winter liner actually works which is also a switch from most leather jackets. In summer the vents work well.
Also have their elkskin gloves which are warm (unlined) down to about 40* F.
+1
Fox Creek quality is TOP notch ad their service is great. You will not be disappointed.
You can get a jacket cheaper than Fox Creek, but doubtful it would be as good. Langlitz is better than Fox Creek but costs twice as much. How much money do you want to spend?

I was there yesterday....they have more USA made leathers than El Salvador products. They were quite busy and they had a ton to choose from. One thing I do like about their stuff is besides grade of leather chosen, they also offer sewn in quilted liners.
From Vanson's website:
Vanson Leathers is Americas leading producer of high quality motorcycle apparel including leather motorcycle jackets, pants and chaps, gloves, racing suits and accessories for men, women and children many manufactured in the USA.
Well I used to be a Vanson fan but not any more as they have some big problems over there. I had my jacket on order (with a deposit ) and was quoted a 3 month delivery. I called at the 4 month interval and was told it would easily be another 4 to 6 months before it "might" be done. They were having leather problems, tanner problems, ect. So I started searching the internet and found out this has been there standard excuse since there bankruptcy in 07. I also was told they buy the leather, cut the panels here in the states then ship it over seas for assembly. I wanted to cut my losses and and asked for my deposit back, and even that took 3 weeks to get back. I have since ordered a Fox Creek Commander jacket and could not be happier.
Vanson Leathers is Americas leading producer of high quality motorcycle apparel including leather motorcycle jackets, pants and chaps, gloves, racing suits and accessories for men, women and children many manufactured in the USA.
The only reference I can find from Vanson's website is "Welcome to Vanson Leathers
Americas leading producer of high quality motorcycle apparel including: leather motorcycle jackets, pants and chaps, gloves, custom racing suits and custom jackets and accessories for men and women." Absent is the quoted "many manufactured in the USA".
This is at the top of the homepage.
I did however, find the statement you reference, including the phrase "many manufactured in the USA" but not on the current website. This phrase was included in descriptions of who Vanson is, but more than five years ago, before their bankruptcy.
I have a 10 year old Vanson jacket that I bought from a Vanson dealer here in Columbus, Oh. (ZZ Boots) Which I had to special order. It still looks like brand new, and I can not immagine ever needing to replace it in my lifetime. I bought my wife a new Vanson jacket earlier this year from the same dealer. The salesman stated that it was the last of the American made Vanson jackets they had, and would not be ordering any more because of problems/issues with ordering product and that most of their jackets were being made in Hondura and just didn't have the quality they used to.
