I'm looking for a quality made (American) jacket. Im an off the shelf fit so i dont need a custom fit. I know Vanson makes great stuff but am considering other options. I found Fox Creek Leathers online. Does anybody know anything about them? How about any other companys?
I recommend Langlitz, custom fit from the beginning. Fox Creek is okay but you have to buy pretty much off the shelf and if it does not fit then you have to pay to send it back for alterations, as many times as it takes.
I was a died in the wool Vanson fan for years two jackets and one pair of pants made in Boston top quality but.....seems most of thier stuff is now imported yuck. The Fox Creek stuff looks quality on the jackets I have seen. Langlitz is incredible but it is $$$$$
If you have to buy a jacket by mail and you have the money for a good one, then go Langlitz. There may be others as good (although I don't know who that might be, no one I ever heard of) but there is none better.
might want to check theses guys out, don't have there stuff my self, but a couple of friends do and they seem to be happy with them. http://www.chilhowee.net/
I decided last spring to invest in a quality leather jacket. By invest, I mean I was ready to pay for quality, durability, and fit. I researched a lot of jacket manufacturers websites and checked the forum for other's comments. I finally decided on Langlitz. I was more than a little concerned about spending big bucks for a jacket that is supposedly custom fitted via the mail. I called Langlitz and expressed my concern. Much to my surprise they offered to send me a jacket that closely matched my overall measurements in advance of making a jacket for me so I could examine the merchandise. I was very impressed and ordered a jacket. I am completely satisfied and HIGHLY RECOMMEND Langlitz! American made, hand-made to your measurements. Perfectly constructed of high quality materials. Not one single flaw in the jacket. Get one, you will never need another leather jacket.
