Several of you wanted to know how the 88 to 103 SE upgrade went..GREAT!! The "head wrench" started on it last Monday and I got it back on the following Saturday afternoon. They went through it from top to bottom. If there was any sign of wear the part got replaced. So far I couldn't be happier. I know now that at 45 to 50K there are a few parts that need to be looked at. Cam timing chain and tensioners. (Yea I know, go to gear driven cams)
As far as performance, I'M IMPRESSED!! The Stroker pulls like a bulldozer and flys like an eagle. LOL! No more downshifting to pass now. Just roll on the throttle and wave. The 103 complements the 6 speed tranny extremely well.
I'm keeping the revs under 3,500 for the 1st 500 mi. then it's ride it like you stole it. Believe me, holdin it down is really, really hard. I probably haven't used more that 1/4 throttle and it still rips through the gears.
I think I'm going to suffer a little fuel mileage loss, but I can deal with that. I love the new sound. The motor is so quiet it's unreal. (at least right now) The old 88 rocker boxes never sounded this quiet. Break in will done by Saturday, then I'll really know what she'll do.
Would be interested in more info on the conversion. Have right at 50K on my '99 Ultra 95". Just wonder if the cost would equate out........as in keeping the '99 or look at a new one.

You really can't make a comparison on the cost of the work they did for me and what other dealers do it for. The dealer had a 103 kit in stock that he wanted to get off the books really bad and the service department was as slow as a turtle. They needed the work that week. That will change as soon as they get the 110 Kits are delivered.
Most dealers have some kind of winter special on big bore kits, etc. As a reference, it usually costs 4,500 for a 103 conversion.
