Just got done halfway installing the Glide Pro System on my '08 Street Glide. Why halfway you ask? Because when I tried to slide the new shaft into the swingarm & tranny, it was getting stuck, so I pulled it out & looked in & VOILA! The gusset for the trans was completely BROKEN across the rear topside of the trans!!!!! I'm lucky I didn't get killed on this thing!!!!!
My next Q is How in the Hell did this happen????? I do remember hitting a pretty good size pothole a few weeks back, but I wouldn't think it would be enough to break the tranny casting??????
I do not have any pics, but has anyone ever seen anything like this???? I wonder if it was a bad casting or something like that?
Any help would be appreciated, as I have a very important ride coming up next weekend.
