I installed a PC-V on my 06 Ultra Classic bout 2 weeks ago. It installed great and works great. I was looking in my paperwork that came with the unit and saw FuelMoto listed dyno centers for tuning the bike at. I called one here in NW Florida and was informed the price would be $350 to do the work and quite a bit of time to perform a proper tuning. Also mentioned was that when you get a map pre-installed by FuelMoto that it is configured for their altitude and not Florida which of course is near sea level. What are your guys thoughts on the price for the tuning and about the altitude claim? I also looked at the map that was pre-installed and of course the numbers look greek to me but I am sure they are correct cause the bike is running great. I have Cobra True Duals, Stage 1 download from HD and Screaming Eagle Slip-ons. Thanks

Why are you asking us?

Just call Jamie and ask him. He is straight shooter and I would expect him to tell you the truth...

And if the bike is running great and you are happy with it....why put it through the unnecessary stress (and cost) of several dyno runs for a possible sprinkle of horsepower that will occur only at an RPM range rarely visited? I say be happy with what you have, and if you have questions call Jamie and discuss your questions with him. Just my 2 cents.

I'm thinking the HD ECM will make the minor altitude adjustments.

Agreed. Besides, Fuelmoto isn't very far from Milwaukee and they're only around 750 feet above sea level. That's not enough altitude difference to make a noticable difference anyway.

Aren't the O2 sensors bypassed with the PC V unless used in conjuction with the Auto Tune function.

Slacker,
You stated that it works great. If you are getting good performance and good MPG, it is likely pretty close.

I have ran several of Jamie's maps in my bike and others that I have installed the PCV in. Two of the bikes have never seen a dyno yet and run great.

That said, each bike is an individual and a tune could help some. Like was mentioned in an earlier post, call Jamie on Monday and talk it over.

One of the reasons I bought a PCV from Fuel Moto is flexibility. If I change my pipes or AC, I can request a new map and I'm good. Granted, the tune may not be perfect for my particular bike on a particular day with a particular ambient temperature and relative humidity, but nothing else on my bike is perfect either.

I have every confidence that your tune will work very well if you requested a map for your air cleaner, header pipes, and slip ons.

Enjoy the ride.

Mike

It's not just the O2 sensors. They're only active under a finite set of conditions anyway. The ECU also reads things like intake manifold pressure and air temps. Those two alone would help the system compensate for altitude changes.

If it's running great don't even worry about it. That difference in altitude is very minimal. Hell I live at 4200' elevation and i've had no troubles with Jaimie's MAPs at all. I commute down to Sea Level and back up to my home in the mtns every day. No problems at all.
