On my way to West Virginia I blew one of the baffle out the back of my 4" Reinharts crossing Arizona, I had a pair of the early ones without the set screw. When I got to WV I called them and they set me a brand new set of the newer style and let me keep the old ones. I did have to squeek a bit but got what I was entitled to under warranty.
I blew a baffle out of the back of my 4" Rineharts. It hit the front tire of the guy riding behind me. The pipes were about 3 months old and had 5500 miles on them. Emailed Rinehart and they sent me a new set of slip ons with the "repair kit" already done. Still had the metal shavings in the pipe from where they drilled through and installed a bolt and attached the nut. They did this in the top position which makes it harder to see. Was impressed with the customer service and warranty. I am disappointed to hear that others have had the same problems.
Loved them while I had them. Constant battle with loose baffels. Got so tired of removing the end caps that I turned them over to not reveal their name, used a self tapping screw on the inside to hold in place.
I have 4" Rineharts with no problems also. Sounds like your dealer is selling you already defective slip on's, especially with a repair kit installed. Maybe he got them cheap being defective, and is trying to sell them as new. It is highly unusual that each set would be defective.
