I've only fitted a new belt twice in over 20 years and went with factory, as they were the easiest to get hold of. There are not many belt manufacturers out there, so I guess any brand should be fine.
I guess your bike has the narrow spec belt. Harley used to make a sidecar heavy weight version of the earlier wide belt, but the narrow one is strong enough! So these things are tough.
The most common cause of a broken belt is said to be tightening them too much, so treat your new one gently!
Guess I should have said are they all about the same strength. The one I just broke was a BDL 136 T 1" wide. I have the 30 tooth trans sprocket on my 08 glide. Im not at all complaining about the belt breaking just wondering if a HD is stronger or any other brands. The belt did good for what I put it through.
