I was getting a nice discounts on accessories when I purchased my 09 FHLP so I pulled the trigger on the King T-Pak and love it for touring. WHen I am not touring it is on a quick detach rack and sits in the garage. I primarily ride solo and have the T-Pak on a solo rack so that it is my backrest:

WHat I don't like about this setup is that that the arm rests get in the way when leaning the bike. If I had it to do over I would have taken delivery with a chopped backrest pad on the King T-Pak as some PDs use like this one:

I am in the process of tracking down a chopped pad so that I can replace the wrap-around version that I have.

QUESTION, and I'll try to qualify it correctly...

For those that put the tour pack on, and don't take it off, yet don't go on overnighters very often and may or may not have passengers....what the heck do you put in them (besides FF helmets)??

My GF and I have our own saddlebag on the SG and fits all we need for a day of riding and some other misc. stuff. And we lock our FF helmets so what in the world do you guys keep in there??

OK, I keep nothing I couldn't llive without, but I find too damn handy to not have....
Atlas
glasses ( clear, yellow, dark)
tool kit
sunblock
hat
do rag (s)
registration and insurance info
manual
drinking mug
bandana(s)
flashlight(s)
tire plug kit
extra magazine
first aid, chap stick etc...
writing pad
laptop or Ipad when traveling

and stuff.....

It's like pulling a trailer on a trip, yes you can tour without one, but once you have one and use it....you'll never leave home without it...

Beautiful bike, I'm looking for a cop road king myself!

There is a local guy who has developed over the years a bar in his tour pak. Pretty cool.

But for us, not a concern about passing up a deal but I see your point.

Quite a list! Yes a laptop can certainly take up some room. I have some questions and comments.

I never travel with a tire plug kit, is it worth it assuming the tire must be mounted properly?

Why yellow glasses?

I keep my manual at home, but it's certainly just as important as my car manual and that stays in the car.

Drinking mug?

Brukus' newest product, TourPack BULLET Secure - to secure your tour pack, sissy bar and rack that attaches with the 4-Point docking system was already written up in Bagger's Magazine!

You can read the write-up here.

Also, wanted to post that Brukus is extending their "Free Shipping" for a limited time. This applies to all standard shipping within the U.S. and we have reduced shipping for our international forum members.

I'm glad you posted that pic of the cop bike. I'm leaning towards a king pak but like you, I don't want the wrap around back rest. I wasn't sure if I could get a king pak without all the holes for the wrap around rest but apparently it can be done.

thanks

Groceries. Four Marie Callendar pies. Pizza and beer. Lot of possibilities.
