Default 02 sensor question

Just put the Rhinehart True Dual Xtreme's on my '12 RG Custom with Stage 1 filter and V&H Fuel Pack. Called V&H with the setup and they provided a map, which I installed. The bike was running crappy on the low end, starving and wanting to die out from a start and also would get chunky on the throttle when dropping off and then accelerating. Called them and they asked if I still had the O2 sensors connected and of course, since the directions they provided didn't tell me otherwise, they were. He said that was my problem and I needed to run them up under my right side panel and disconnect them. I have. Tomorrow morning I'll take it to work and back, 40 miles. Two concerns...1) does this sound right? and 2) what will it do to my factory warranty, not to mention my emmisions and such? Any insight appreciated.

I don't like those systems, but what do I know-?

your warranty is invalidated by the pipes, air cleaner and V&H- if you have to take it in, just remove that stuff
( and someone is gonna say otherwise- but if you read the warranty--- or the notices in the Harley screaming eagle catalog, they kinda spell it out--- Magnuson Moss Warranty Act does not allow non compliant modifications).

Emissions- I think only PHX and Tucson areas test bikes- again modifications that are reversible solve that.

I dunno, seems odd to remove the feedback that the o2 sensors would give ECM.
I didn't buy earlier H-D EFI systems, because they lacked good sensor and actuator control--- I stayed on an old evo waiting for these bikes to get good enough.
My 09 is. ( but I use XIEDS inline with the o2 sensors which reduce sensor voltage to the stock ECM, I have hiflow air cleaner and slip ons with stock headers- a little less radical than your set up)

Have to say I never unhooked mine when I ran a Fuelpak, on mode 17 add numbers to add a bit of fuel and down to take a bit away.

Have to unhook them with a PCV. I would think somebody smart will chime in here and let you know for sure. I would think you have to so you can get rid of that signal that they are reading from the ECM.

With the new Fuel Pak and the PC V you have to d/c the O2 sensors otherwise the ecm willkeep working against the Fuel Pak. I talked to Derek at V & H about this and he said it would run with them connected but not correctly. In the new package they give you O2 connectors that are basicly dummy plugs that allow you to plug in the wires from the sensor but they are not connected to anything.

This was the main reason I ended up going with Power Vison , I wanted to be able to use the info from the O2 sensors for closed loop riding. And also not have a piggy back device on the bike.

I have a V&H Fuelpac on my 2010 FLHTK and I have run it thousands of miles with the
O2 sensors first connected and then disconnected. I really couldn't feel any difference
in seat of the pants performance, but she seems to get a little bit better gas mileage
with the sensors connected (under the side panel).
