Cam install questions

This is the oil pump and corresponding damage from my Dad's '06. Internally stock 88" with 40k miles. Rhineharts, SE A/C, and a factory download.
Front inner cam bearing went, which broke the clip holding the front cam to the cam plate. Took out the whole lower end. Had to replace the cases because of the damage to the inner bearing bore.
I'd replace the stock bearings.
