Unless you plan on running it at over 100 MPH on a regular basis I'm not understanding what the issue is. If it runs good at normal speeds that should suffice.
sounds like its a stock 88" motor. punch it out to a 95" do a cam and head work it will run better. My 95" ran like a scalded dog. I kinda wish I still had it.
The problem is, your bike is 5 years old with barely any miles on it! An object at rest tends to stay at rest. But seriously, you might be shifting a little too early. Don't be afraid to twist that throttle and let the RPM's climb before shifting gears. Just a thought.

I am definetly not afraid to twist the throttle, problem is I actually started to laugh at how gutless it was when I did! My Cobra will do 78mph in 2nd gear. Now I know Harly's are not built for speed and I am fine with that because that is not why I bought it but 100mph is all it got? On a bike? plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz......................
