I was under the impression that the angle of the shield combined with the airflow created by forward movement moved water across the shield.

I have always preferred to look over a shield, rather than through it.

If it's raining hard enough that I can't see, I stop for awhile... and have a beer.

What rule says you have to look OVER the shield not thru it? I look thru it and ride just fine! It is nuthin but a misguided premise coming from riders that came from bikes that didn't have a windshield. There is nothing wrong with looking THRU a windshield. and No do not use Rainex it will ruin it. I use Plexus and it repels water just fine!

I agree; any rider that's ever been caught in a quick West Texas hail storm, will tell you that looking over the shield is not such a good idea.

My clear view shield allows the use of Rainex; but I don't use it, and no, I don't know why.

I use carnauba wax. Works well and doesn't effect the windshield.
