I am looking into adding some LED's to the engine area and was figuring out locations for the strips.
Thinking under each side of the tank, under the A/C and Horn Bell, one under the seat shining on the back of the motor, one up front under the tank to shine on the front of the motor, one on the back of each brake caliper for the front tire and then one long strip under each bag.
Anyone got any pics of their lighting locations and good or bad experiences with my ideas?
Thats the same locations I have leds, except only one caliper in front. I would do both for a better glow. I don't know what kind I have. I was at a local rally and there was a vendor there, the husband did pinstripes and the wife did the leds. Left the bike all afternoon, came back and it was done. They put a switch on the frame I can reach while driving if I want to light up. And its run straight from battery with an inline fuseholder. So you can use anytime. I don't have any pictures, sorry.
I have been told by a couple of different LED guys not to put them on the caliper, they say with the caliper getting hot and then cools off it will eventually fall off. I put 2 10 inch strips on both inner sides of my front fender, granted you can only do this if your still using the stock fender. It lights it up quite nicely.
I have Super Lizards on my SG - pretty much in the same basic areas that you described, except for the calipers. I just have my engine area lit right now. I like the Lizard lights because there's more options (colors, patterns, etc.) than the HD LED's and they're a lot cheaper. Easy to install & add onto. http://www.kuryakyn.com/Products/180...rd-Maximus-Kit
I think I have narrowed it down to the ones you have, but did you buy any kind of prep solution or just cleaned the area with alcohol before install. Also any concerns or tricks I should know before ordering?

Clean the area where you will install the lights well with alcohol. I would sugguest when installing the lights under the bike make sure all oil and grease is off. I used a orange degreaser cleaner then cleaned with alcohol. If not you might have to use some type of wire ties to keep the lights in place. Just take your time and use tape to place the lights where you want them. Then turn the lights on to see if it's the lighting effect you want.
