Can anyone tell me the name/number of the type of coax power jack that Gerbings uses on their stuff? I want to install a panel-mounted outlet to plug into, so I need a compatible female jack with a threaded outer surface so a nut can be put on to hold it in a panel opening.
that looks like the coax socket we use on guitar effect pedals, you may be able to match at radio shack or at large electronics supplier ( like Frys in the West).
although the rubber cover might be a search.
for placement, you'd be more comfy to mount somewhere down by your thighs, rather than have a cable stretching up to the fairing and blowing around in the wind.
I have my headphone plug by my left thigh
my Pal uses some kinda heated stuff that plugs into the cable he uses for his battery tender- maybe if you changed the plug on the gerbing- that'd be an easy and flexible fix- as long as you have fusing and control inline.
( my Dad flew RCAF Lancs in WWII, they tried early heated clothing which was always shorting and catching on fire!)
I just ordered a couple of these myself...haven't seen a better price, free shipping & no tax to my door. I've got my wires dangling-out from under my seat (thigh area) now, so these will neaten things-up & keep the wire from getting pinched.
