Question Front Wheel change?

Is it ok to just change out the front wheel/tire with say a 21 ish inch rim and low pro tire? Without changing the rear rim?

Buddy just told me that changing the front rim will give a phenomenal appearance change to the bike? He however rides a Deluex with hard bags not an EGC

Suggestions, opinions?

People put 21's on the front without changing the rear all the time. If it was me I would do both but it's not cheap

Just a few other details to sort out, i.e. fender mount, rotor mount, caliper mount.

Not just a bolt on replacement, with matching rotor's? What you mean by rotor mount, fender mount, caliper mount?

In my case I have spokes, so it would drive me nuts unless I went with a spoke in the front, which I wouldn't do. There are some deals out there, so if I was going to spend the money I would just get the pair. They have some package deals on eBay that offer both front and rear rims with tires and matching front rotors. Hogpro.com is also offering a special this month. You can see a little of the rear rim, but if the money isn't there I would live with it being different

I have the what, 28 "spoke" aluminum rim I think...But that was my thought, can't see much of the rear rim as it is. Looking at different options and opinions. Thanks.

Go for 21", the rear one will come after ;-)
a new rim and tyre, you can keep your rotors and at least drill to 3/8" the fender rear mounting holes

Nice....I see yo cleaned up the whole front fender. I just took off the extra chrome and rubber bumper assembly. Still have the the fender tip light, and chrome a the bottom edge of the fender..

What you mean by at least drill to 3/8 the fender rear mounting holes?

On Street Glides, if you make the rear mounting holes bigger (3/8) you then tip the fender a slight amount forward (because there will be a little bit of play). If you don't the wheel could rub the back and ruin your paint and wear the tire prematurely.

You don't have to lower the front, but it will be more tippy at low speeds if you don't. When I order my 21" this winter I will be lowering the front.
