Default Kuryakyn Velociraptor A/C?

Is anyone using the Kuryakyn Velociraptor air cleaner? What are your thoughts on fit, finish and function? Does it stick out further than the stock a/c?

Thanks.

i think they make shiny junk.

It does stick out farther, the breather hoses are visible as well

you saw the pic on the website?

2.) these are the people who marketed the "hypercharger" which flowed less CFM than the stock air cleaner in tests

Every Kuryakyn part I have ever bought (including the HD branded stuff) has come off the bike, and is collecting dust in the corner of my garage. Like mkguitar said "shiny junk"

The only thing I've gotten from Kuryakyn is their driver floor board relocators. 1 inch out 1 inch forward. The rest of there stuff is just not up to par for my bike.

They make parts for metrics. Not Harleys. Again. It's been said. Shiny junk

I will have to, once again, be the lone dissenter. I have a Velociraptor and I really like it. It does stick out a bit farther, but I also run footboard extensions (3/4") so it is no bother to me. I like the look of it and it is made very well. Only thing I don't really care for is they use plastic fittings for the oil breather hoses, at the adapter that goes between the air cleaner and throttle body. I also bought the chrome covers for the oil breather bolts on the head. I have noticed a slight increase in fuel mileage with the Velociraptor over the Screamin Eagle stage 1.

I think, personally, it looks better than some of the other "popular" air filters out there that some people wet their pants over. But that's just me. I like velocity stacks but using a regular un-filtered one would be engine suicide on the street.

Some previously posted photos of my set up.

Plus you have the added filtering from your pant leg being sucked into the stack

But it does look cool.

Shiny for a while till the chrome cracks or bubbles, junk! But they are a little less expensive than some higher quality products.

Does the tiny filter flow sufficient air, or is everone else just running way too much air filter?
