My 2011 TBW is flawless..I love it, and it responds the way I expect. Not sure why others are having issues. I know when it first came out it was having response issues, but not on the newer rides...
Have you disconnected the Throttle Pak to confirm that is the problem?
Yes the dealer took off my old TP, put a new TP, and said the cruise control was still acting up. They put a stock download and said now it's working. I have thunderheaders and V/H power duals, SE Tuner, PM high flow and my bike feels like crap. I don't think it is the TP causing the cruise control issues. I think it is electronic somewhere. I contacted V/H tech support to see if there are any issues with TP and cruise control. Right now I have a stock download and stock throttle body and I am going back to the dealer to get my bike back the way it was, with the cruise control working correctly. I have 18's apes, and the wires, per their computer system, said there were no issues. Brake lights work perfectly. I heard something about over greasing with the cruise control, but not to sure. This is very frustrating.

The Throttle Pak has nothing to do with the ECM, it only controls the throttle body to open the "butterfly" faster when you twist the throttle hard. What download did your bike have if they supposedly downloaded another? You have other issues causing the problem with the cruise control. I would assume maybe a pinched wire from installing the apes???

Have you ridden a bike with cable controls before your current bike? I know there was a difference going from a 2002 V-Rod to my 09 SG.
I had my TP put on at last year's TN State HOG Rally. Everything worked great, until I started home and went to set the cruise. Nothing. I stopped and dug out my paperwork and it gave me no clue what was wrong. For the hell of it I went through the code reset instructions. Got back on the freeway and tryed again to set the cruise. It worked like it was supposed to and I have not had an issue since.
I've gotta agree with Scotracy, at least about my 08 FLHRC- no lag or any other "jumpy" TBW issues. I can't tell any difference in response from this TBW from my other bike which does have the cables. I just rode a 2012 FLHRC yesterday and that was also right on the money.
Reading around about this issue I've concluded it's either more sensitive riders than I am or a bike-to-bike issue.
