Question Fairing Bolt

looking to buy a alternative to HD over priced bolts.. 1/4x20x5/8 .. anyone buying these at Lowes or HD?>

Yes I used the black version grade 8 bolts (from lowes) to replace the ones all over my drivetrain

They are not cheap, but Diamond Engineering stainless steel hardware is the best. www.depss.com

On a ride one day I noticed my batwing seemed to be a little loose, when I
looked there was a bolt on the inside behind the headlight that was gone, went to the dealer had to show the guy behind the counter the bolt I was talking about when he came out off the stockroom he handed me two new ones and said is that all you need, a little suprised i said yes, he relied have a nice day.

stainless steel is also quite brittle compared to steel, high nickel content

when replacing fasteners always use the same or higher grade, if you are not sure, take the old bolt with you, the head has markings that'll tell the supplier what you need.
