Bought a 2012 Roadking
First off Im in Afghanistan. I used the Military program. They had a program for $300 down and they matched it$300. Vivid Black - Total with Security/ABS was $17,570.00.
So my question is should I get the 3,5 or 7 year extended warranty if any? I wont be home till Aug 2013. But when the 2013s come out I can switch my order to one of them. I will be paying on the bike while I am here interest free.

First off THANKS FOR YOU SERVICE, KEEP YOUR HEAD DOWN !!
As for warranty, you'll get the two year free...as for extended if you can afford it might as well get the 4 year extended....never know..good piece of mind.

Congrats on a very cool bike. I'm also not big on extended warranty.
Best of luck to you, be safe and I'm looking forward to hearing how much you love your new King when you get back.

Get the 5 year. Best bang for the buck in my opinion. And make sure it includes tires and wheels and road side assistance. The peace of mind I have for purchasing that can't be described.
And if it's not too late, get cruise control too!! That is the single best thing they ever did to a motorcycle.

I bought mine through the same AAFES program and picked it up in 2010. Great bike. You're going to love it.
+1 on the Cruise Control.
The extended warranty depends on how much riding you plan on doing with it. If it's going to be a Garage Queen then no extended warranty is necessary. I'm on the road a fair amount. 15,000 miles in 17 months. So far I've had a saddlebag hinge and a front brake switch replaced under warranty. I have about 2.5 years of warranty left. I hope I don't need to use it but I'm glad I have it.
Stay safe.

I bought my RKC outright and they offered the extended warranty but that would have been quite a bit more cash out of my pocket so I declined, Only issue I had so far was the cruise switch and Shenandoah HD replaced it under warranty, I figure if anything is wrong with the bike, I will know about it within the first couple of years, I have over 11,000 miles on it already in only 5 months and good so far, But, If I had financed it, I might have actually gone with the warranty extension but then again, That's a lot of add-on money.
Your choice.
A buddy of mine just got back from over there.
Make it home safe and enjoy your HD!!!
