Thanks guys, I looked at what one of you said about the battery being hard to get out, well that just helped make up my mind to just leave the battery in and tender on (which I've already have).
Is there really such a thing as winter "storage?" If my last ride is in early December and my first ride of the new season is mid-February, is the period in between really "storage?"

Nope. No big deal just parking it and putting it on the charger.
Has anyone ever used the Schumacher battery tender that is sold at Wal Mart. I have a bigger charger to charge the quad batteries but I just bought my bike and was wondering if the Schumacher would work. My bike came with the plug so I do not have to use the clips. The Schumacher is only $20 at Wal Mart. Anyone use these before.
I usually fill the gas tank, to prevent corrosion. At my recent 10k the service manager at Northern Lights HD in Northwoods of WI, suggested I only fill halfway, when storing so there is room to put fresh fuel in at start up. I asked him if my tank would rust and he said no, the tank has a liner to prevent rusting.
That sounds like a good idea. Does anybody know if that is true about the liner?

Not me. I'm pulling the battery. My SG will live in a 10x10 wood shed in my back yard, from Thanksgiving Day weekend through March. My battery will live on a battery tender in my climate-controlled, in-home workshop.
Sounds like some good advice. My first winter with my Road King and I have been looking into this. Ive also heard to make sure to do a fresh eng. oil change to get out any condensation that has accumulated in crankcase. Is this true?
I wouldn't do the half tank fill up, with warm and cold swings in temps you could get condensation inside the tank. I've always filled the tanks full, and in the spring I'll drain the tank and refilled (just used the old gas in the car, it seems to run fine with it). Maybe the newer tanks are lined, but I learned a long time ago (the hard way) filling the tank full.
