Yes. Do it before storage to get the nasty combustion by-products out of the engine and do it again in the spring simply to remove condensation.

I'd only do the second change if the bike is stored outside or in an area where it is subject to wild temperature swings. if you store inside its likely ok.

Also don't store the bike near any corrosive chemicals. By keeping the pool chlorine in the same room as my old bike I think it had an impact on the aluminum parts.

Maybe the newer tanks are lined, but I learned a long time ago (the hard way) filling the tank full.
I'll add 6 ounces of Seafoam Motor Treatment to the tank, then fill it to the brim. In the Spring, I use Seafoam in the first few tankfuls to treat the internal fuel lines and injectors.

I change the engine fluids in the Fall, just before I ride her into the shed. In the Spring, she's ready to good for the season.

Some day my winter storage will be to pack up the bike and ride south for the winter till then. After the salt flies the bike sits hibernating for winter.
Leave the battery in and just hook up any trickle charger that has an auto on-off. Fill the tank half way add some stabilizer. Come spring add some fresh gas and an oil change. just my

Geezer. Do you siphon the old gas out? I'm a little touchy on this cause I think the gas sucks these days, I had to have my old bikes carbs rebuilt in the spring even though I stored it with a full tank, treated with Seafoam.

Back in my carb days, I would fill the tank, shut the petcock off and run the carbs dry. Never had to rebuild a carb from bad gas.
