Get the Garmin Quest or Quest II. Get it on ebay. Then go to Surdyke HD and purchase the fairing mount for about $25. You can have this sweet set-up all for about $250.00. The Quest will play thru your AUX port on your radio or thru an ear piece. But, this is the unit that HD uses on the Ultras.

ultrafan06, the bluetooth headset attaches to the the helmet, either clamped or doublesided tape(velco). Earpiece attaches on inside and boom goes to the front. There are some helmets already with the bluetooth according to what I've read.

The TrafficNav really only works in larger cities, You can do a search for XM TrafficNav and it will tell you what major cities it covers. I use it in LA in my car and works pretty well. Some of the data is dated and it will try to reroute you even tho the incident has been cleared.

Thanks for the info. The Zumo sounds like the one I'll look at. The TrafficNav would probably work in Dallas. I'll check it out.

Yup Dallas-Ft. Worth is covered

Someone else recommended the Quest/2 also, which is a nice unit tho smaller, and uses buttons instead of the touch screen that the Zumo uses.

We have a Zumo 550 and wouldn't trade it for anything. It's easy to use and the fact that it comes with a cradle for the car as well as the bike is a major plus. Tech support from Garmin is very good. We plug it into the AUX input to listen through the audio system. It would be nice if H-D/Harmon Kardon would permit you to configure the system to allow music to cut out when you get a voice instruction over the GPS, in the same way that it does for CB and inercom. That said, I can do without the distraction of music for those times that I need to listen to instructions when I'm in unfamiliar territory. Once I'm back in straight-line cruise, I switch back to my tunes. The screen is a good size and the system is easy to learn. Love the low fuel alert.

I wish the traffic alerts were available in Toronto. They say, "Coming soon".

Thanks for the info Tom, I've heard a lot of good things about the Zumo 550. One guy told me he was able to find a ATM when he needed cash with his.

Funny you should mention that. I had lunch with a friend and he wanted to know where the nearest ATM was. After lunch, we walked to the bike and I brought it up on the Zumo. Well, it wasn't his bank, so we scrolled down. OK, right bank, wrong direction. Scroll down one more, and there it was. Man, that was cool!

The Zumo 550 has to be plugged into the Aux port on your bike's radio to hear the voice directions through the speakers. However, you can insert a memory card (SD memory just like cameras use) in the Zumo and put your mp3 files there and listen to them through the Zumo. The voice navigation prompts will interupt the music. The Zumo 550 sytem also has the capabilities for BlueTooth telephones and also XM radio.

I have the both my zumo 550and HD mp3 player pluged into the aux inputvia an A/B source switch. I wanted to keep the mp3 player because I organize my tunes on different SD's and like to change them on the fly. The zumo has to be taken out of the cradle to get access to the SD.
