Very nice Dave!!! I realy had to sleep on it a few nights trying to decide between the blue/black vs the ember/merlot!! In fact when I went to make final negociations and put money down - I still was not sure!! That is a very nice color you got there!! Gunna start working on my baby next week. Freeking snowing like crazy here!!!
Hay Colorodohunter. I picked up the exact same bike as you 2012 FLHTK midnight/ brilliant. I love the color combo. Have you checked to see if you have any oil seeping from the base of the rear cylinder? I noticed it at about 300 miles and cleaned it up. I noticed it again at 1100 miles and brought it back to the dealer. He said it happens and to let it get worse so that harley will warranty it. Problem is I dont know what other problems the dealer removing the jug on a new bike can cause.

Why wouldn't Harley warranty it now? Tell the dealer to fix the damn thing. Brand new bikes shouldn't leak oil, anywhere.
I droped the bike off at Jim Moroneys HD yesturday. I have to tell you the service writers are fantastic, very easy to talk to, and it seems like they really care. I ll let you guys know how i make out.
So i got a call from Moroney's yesterday they said the bike was ready. I got a ride in the afternoon to pick it up. When i got there they said that the oil seepage was from assembly. They cleaned up the oil road tested the bike and told me to keep an eye on it. I already cleaned it up at 300 miles and was keeping an eye on it. Wow, anyway only time will tell if it becomes a major problem.
I want to be clear I think that the people at the dealership are great and easy to deal with and I would recommend them to others. I am just not used to spending so much money almost $25000.00 on a motorcycle, or anything else, that has oil seeping out of it. I guess I am a little frustrated at how HDMC handles new bike issues. In the end I love the bike and that is all that matters.
Havnt been back here in a while. I ended up putting a V&H exaust system on my pretty little thing. Power duals headers, monster ovals, arness big sucker air and a dyno jet power vision tuner. Simply awsome!!! Perfect for touring and when you want yourself to be herd. Another acc I put on is the HDPDPLUS I-pod interface - way less than Harley and works exactly the same. I went with the fairing mounted Roadtech Zummo 660 GPS from harley. Got her the way I want and very happy. Just took it in for 1K tune up. Gas milage at this point with exaust upgrade is 38 and improving.
