Default Additional Dyno Time ??

Hi All:

Bought a new 2011 RKC last year and had a Stage 1 upgrade done with Supertuner and set of VandH twin slash ovals and high flow A/F. Bike has a stock header and after a year, I've decided I want the bike louder without sacrificing performance (of course).

Research tells me I need to change the header....After I get a new header (looking at the VandH power duals), do I need to have the bike retuned on the Dyno ?

HD dealer of course tells me it must be done but others namely VandH say it's not necessary.....

Any shared input and/or past experiences would be great.

Thanks !!

Because you have the original header, I'm assuming the cat. converter is still in place. Assuming that's true, if you install a new catless header I'm thinking you need to have it tuned. I know I would. You're changing the dynamics of the whole exhaust section with the cat gone and a different header. I'd pay the $250-300 to have it tuned on the dyno - then you know.

My $0.02

At stage 1 I would try to get a canned map from V&H. You can dyno if you want but its a bit of a waste.

Have you got the software and the SEPST?
