big sled , it is an 07 street glide in pacific demin blue

and, just got the bike back from the dealer and i was told that the bike runs perfect .
that the download was done correctly ,and i guess they said tough luck if you do not like it the way it is.

so now my position is ,do i get rid of this bike and trade it in ,or try to put it back the way it was and consequences .

as the bike is i have no intention on riding it .

and i thought harley dealers were more consumer oriented than this.

very disapointed with harley and one of its dealers. and, i am a first time buyer coming in from sports and sports touring bikes

does anyone know if there is a way to reset the ecm to the original mode and ?????

My dealer said they could take it back out for me if I wanted it out
the problem is your warranty goes with it. Harley says it must be done
or the engine will fail.

PM. me if you want to come up to SC. to have it removed, my guys
will take it out for you if thats what you really want to do.

My bet is they screwed up your down load because everyone I know
here inclueding myself loves this down load. The bike went from an
OK" bike to ride to a GREAT" bike to ride. With the SE mufflers and
the recall down load my Ultra is a rocket now.

Being I've only rode motorcycles from Japan or Italy for the last
40+ years and for over 1 million miles of riding and I thought this
07 Ultra was a slug until now! LOL"

Good Luck with yours my friend...

I thought my bike was vibrating more than it should. Mirrors shake so bad I can't see chit. Thought it was just the break-in period. [:@]

i have vibration issues that i will not accept.

before the recall the bike became super smooth as soon as i rolled on the throtle ......now i get vibrations thru the footpegs and handlebars from 900 rpm thru 2,000 rpm and then they diminish but are still there .
and at 85 mph on 6th or 5 th the vibes intensify a little and come in thru pegs and the seat .

the motor now feels more relaxed and before it was all bussiness and immediate response . the low end on start up rolling is now less powerful.
have ridden bike 450 miles after the ecm flash recall and these are my findings on my bike .
hd cuetomer service told me to take it back to dealer and to have him call a hd tech when working on my bike

ffb
Sounds like they stole your mojo! Since ive read every post on this subject and you are the only one not happy, Id say maybe you should just have them put it back to the original flash, it is as the 903 letter stated being "offered to customers" thats different from "being" required so why make such a big deal of it, tell them to reflash it. where is the problem?

For those of you WITH 07s with SERTs or about to get SERTs (my situation)

Just got off the phone with my dealer... returning their call no less (guess some customer service departments are proactive and others don't even exist).

Their position - > I asked about the "Torque Smoothing Recalibration" (TSR) recall and they told me that the dealership has the option of either doing the ECM flash upgrade or returning the "recall card" stating an inspection has been done and no action was taken (hmmm.... it is a recall if there's a recall/warranty card generated now isn't it?) - The service manager (who I extend a little trust / and kudos to) was adamant that remapping the ECM with the SERT (after my upgrades) will effectively cancel out the TSR flash of the ECM anyway... no need to make 2 trips... now as soon as my True Duals arrive (next Monday) I'll get the scoot up to SFHD for the upgrades and be done with it.

I haven't had the noise issues (engine or tranny) on my CVO Ultra - but I'm pretty sure a lot of it has to do with the altitude here (A/F ratio)... we already run pretty lean at 5500 ft... (but yes, it still does run a lot hotter than my 03 RKC 95cu)

Bottom line - make sure your dealership handles the recall properly for your scoot. Oh, and it is just a download from the HD-Tech site, any dealership can get it and no it doesn't cost anything... if you're told otherwise, they're yanking your chain.

If you find the bulletin and read carefully they have a list of updated sert calibrations also. I pointed this out to my dealer who was convinced it only affected stock bikes. I will wait till spring now and let the smoke clear.

well, i am now told that a factory rep was there at the dealeship when my bike was inspected this a.m. and he confirmed that my bike is within parameters and that all is ok.,

well, it still vibrates which it never did before .
so, i have just now offered the bike back to the dealer i got it from to see if he would buy it back.

and,211 chuck ,thank you for your reply but i do not understand what you said.

is it that you want me to bring the bike back to your dealer and he wil reflash it with the original program ?

and , please note that my plans were to rdie this bike to miami leaving connecticut on monday am and i do have to got hrough south carolina. i will still do so unless i hear from my dealer in vermont and he buys my bike back.

Called Baymeadows this passed Sunday about ECM update. They did not know anything about it, but said that their Digital Tech was down anyways and could not do it Sunday. Made appointment for Monday, 11/27 for update. Called prior to going over and service said that the new service manage had brought over the notice and said that it would not be available until mid December and that I would need to wait for letter and warranty card. Said that the SM owned an 07 and would be waiting as well. Yea, right!. Told service that update is available and that people were getting it already. Service said if I wanted it to come on in. Took about 20-25 minutes. So far cannot really tell the difference the way other posts are saying, but if anything it seems as if I have more noise. Take off from stop has not improved. Makes me wonder if I have correct download. It is about 12 miles one way to dealer, so I specifically paid attention to performance on the way over to compare. Will ride a lot this weekend to see if a difference is there.

Sounds like when you pressed it, they just did something to blow you off. They should have given you a copy of the work order showing what was done....

HD is really having a bad year with some early 07 owners and have done very little to correct things EPA or not. They seem to do anything for you until its something they dont agree with-like the clatter noise.I have yet to have them do anything positive to correcting my bikes problem under warranty. What has been done to my bike I have paid for myself and hopefully the aftermarket will cure what they wont. Many members here have offered things that they have found has worked or has noyt. This new download is a bandaid and results have been mixed so far.If this is just to weed out bikes w/detonation to see how many are left after that I will go along with.I tend to believe its to limit the complainers. But why did it take so long.Listen up your losing customers, youve angered some that have already bought. The word is out for these new tourers like it or not.Every month someone on this board sells their 07 because they have had it and this is just a small number of new owners.Around me theres no lines to get your bike serviced, new models dont seem to be moving as they should, discounts arent drawing in what you would expect.People are leery of the new releases{tourers}hoping you will get your act together. Some have stated here on waiting till next year.Customer service can no longer speak to me and thats fine cause they have done nothing, letters to HDs CEO has gotten no responses,my purchasing dealer has said they can do no more.Whats a owner to do?some are doing it,some have already, most will next yr.

Service claimed they needed to figure out how to charge this to HD and will mail me the service order. Probably right about blowing me off. I will get it checked again when I go in for service. If the ride this weekend shows no changes to performance, may call and complain and have it checked. Would still have my 06 if someone had not hit me. Actually liked the way it rode and performed better and wife agrees. Have to take off faster from a start to be smooth without jerking and she does not like that. Fuel economy stinks as well - 30-32 mpg. Initially got around 40 and seems to be dropping off. Have not changed riding style.
Ideas anyone?
