looking for that classic loud rinehart sound....going to get the true duals....anyone have a recommendation on a sound difference of the 3.5" or the 4"? I like the looks of both.......
IMO the 3.5" pipes are "raspy". The new 4" Riney's are "deep" I'm running the 4" and love them. Solo or 2-up ...not too loud for touring, but bark when you get on it! They sound like a bagger should.
A friend of mine just bought a new 2011 Street Glide (beautiful bike) and he just installed the 4" Rineharts and I'll tell ya they look great! Large round diameter and the sound is great. They really fill in under the saddlebags nice. I liked them so much I'm going for a set myself this winter...and my pipes that I have now are fine. Lol
Just installed the 3.5"they have more of that Rinehart sound than the 4" to me !!
in your opinion are they raspy?

Ive heard the 4" arent very loud....im looking for a nice loud rumble....i know its hard to compare but all the rineharts ive heard are pretty loud....do you think they are fairly loud?
The 4's have a deeper sound at idle. The 3.5 are louder on the throttle. I like them both, but I have the 3.5's and don't plan on changing to the 4's. I dont know what the "raspy" sound some people talk about is. Also I have mine on true duals as well
The 3 1/2" are louder. The 4" are deeper. If you want loud and deep get the NEW CFR slipon's. They have the new performance baffle. They sound amazing on true duals.
Had the 3.5's on my '02 and just put the 4's on the '12. The 4 inch do seem to have a deeper sound. Crack the throttle when your standing behind it and it will get your attention.
I heard the 4" Rinehart's on a brand new, otherwise stock, 2012 SG at the dealership.
Maybe it's because the SG was in the showroom, but those Riney's BOOMED! They sounded great (deep, with some thump), but I think they'd be too loud for me.
