For those of you that have installed "on your own", the Wild-1 577 bars on an electra glide:
I talked to John at Wild 1 and he said that I "do not" need longer wiring ! He said that most all HD dealers will insist on longer additions, but that there is enough wire length already, by relocating the connectors ?? What do ya say on this ? Also he said to use 6" over on the clutch cable and brake line, is this your findings too ? Thanks for your responses.
Craig
I put the WO577's on my 2006 SG and I did not extend the wiring. I removed the end pugs and fed the wiring through the bars, Once through the bars I put the plugs back on and now they sit just below the radio. As far as the cables I originally used +6 on all (Clutch, Throttle and Idle) but I have replaced the clutch cable since then and I went with +8. I prefer the +8 as I was able to get smoother bends up through the fairing. For the brake lines I used the Magnum BYOB (Build your own brake) kit. Not to bad of an install and I did not have to worry about length.
As the others have said, you won't be able to mount the plugs in their original locations if that's what you want to do. I put the extensions on mine and remounted all plugs and had a little bit of slack left over.
Like Takedown said, you should go with the +8 clutch as the +6 is a really tight fit. Mine is chafed and cut through the outer insulation and I'll be replacing it with a +8 soon. Magnum brake lines are great - you'll have to get the lower section then create the upper length section you need.

Same as my install on an 08 except the +6 was fine on the clutch and the TBW was long enough to go back in the original position
