Default Harley-SE tuner question

I am looking at several tuners. This is an HD tuner question. Since they appear in catalog to come with 2 CD's why do you have to have dealer or Indy shop do tune?(indy wants 1 1/2 hrs. labor). I do my own after market tune on my 2000 vette. Why can't you do it yourself with laptop. One HD dealer wants $499 for tuner and $200 first time set up. Is it that hard with laptop. Other tuners send you map and you do it yoursel? Again this is SE tuner question. Thnx in advance.

You don't need a dealer to do anything. You can run it with your laptop and cables. Use the smart tune function and have fun with it. Start here

Get the training DVD disc and look over that. You can do everything yourself. I have used many tuners including Power commander, and Master tune. I like the HD tuner the best. It is really good if you stick with Harley engine accessories there are a lot of base maps you can build on with different performance part configurations.
