Default Big Bore stage 2 install

Started Friday night and finished Sunday evening with install on my 08 RG. Aside from the 103 BB kit, I installed S&S 551 easy start cams, feuling oil pump and feuling cam plate and feuling lifters. Seemed a shame to cover up that beautiful oil pump and pretty cam plate! So now I am faced with remapping the ECM for the configuration. I've got the Sert pro, or whatever they call it along with the cables and associated software. Having never done a remap with the Harley tool, my question is: How difficult is it to install a canned map?? I'll use the canned map for break in and then have it dyno'd.

Upon tear down of the 52k mile motor, I was pleasantly surprised by how little wear there was to the cylinder bores....I could still see the cross-hatch pattern; and my bike didn't use but perhaps a half quart of oil every 5k. Also the stock oil pump had surprisingly little wear as did the cam plate. The crank run-out measured .002, which from what I've read here, is outstanding! All in all, I'm a happy camper! Now on to that remap!!!!!

For all you people out there thinking about doing this yourself.....YOU CAN DO IT!!!! Just get a manual, an extra set of helping hands and take your time!

outstanding...hows it sound out of the box? Is it drivable or does it need a big time tune first?

Just my opinion but I would break it in on the dyno. Who knows how close a base map is fuel wise? Put a base map in it to start it to check for leaks and then put it on the dyno. A good dyno guy will know how to break it in. The first few miles are the most important. Installing the canned map will take 60 seconds once you are plugged in.

Sounds louder than before. I had a stage 1 with rineharts. Don't know if it's driveable. Just started it up till oil pressure built than turned it off. I gonna take a break from working on it for a day or so, then maybe take it for a short spin .

Well, you see, that's the hitch..."a GOOD dyno guy"....not sure about these guys that work for the shop around here. I suppose I could chat it up a bit with them then make a decision. I thank you for the suggestion, something I hadn't considered before. I figure the canned map will be closer than the dyno map for the stage one that is currently in it. Thanks again.
