Default Stock Seat Chop!!!

So, I've had my 2007 SG for about 7 months. Rode a few 200 milers, 100 milers and a multi day 1800 miler to Texas and back to Florida. All this on the stock seat and 14" Wild One Chibby Bars. The seat was always fine for me but the bars had way too much pullback and my arms were never extended in a comfortable position. I tried everything, pushing the bars forward, new seat, having the seat foam trimmed. NOTHING WORKED. I just kept feeling like I wa sitting way too far forward and NOTHING WAS WORKING. I was one day away from calling my indy and ordering a new set of bars when I got a crazy idea. So I got home pulle the seat off the bike and proceeded to go to town. I pulled all the staples holding the cover on and took a hacksaw to start cutting more foam from the seat. After 10 minutes of cutting and testing and sitting it still wasn't moving back far enough. So, I proceeded to remove the foam from seat pan and pulled the angle grinder from the shelf. Plugge it in and went to town on the seat pan. I was able to grind the cradle back about 5 inches and then continued to cut foam. Well, low and behold I was able to get the riding position exactly where I wanted it. My arms are extended, my feet are comfortably stretched and now all that's left is to have the seat recovered with a custom leather pattern. I figured what the hell. If I ruin this stock seat, I can always pick up another one from eBay for around $150 and it's no harm no foul. For the tall guys out there, don't waste money on 1,000 seats to fix your riding position. Pull that cover off and fix it where you want it yourself.

I believe this is the firs time I've heard of someone having to much pull-back.

Keep in mind that modifying a seat can be not so great for those that are extra heavy if not don't correctly.

Yeah, but if you get it wrong it's always cheaper than constantly buying and replacing seats.
