I think it's not a matter of if it's going to happen but when is it going to happen. It happen to me twice. The first time I did everything I could to keep it up and threw my back out. The second time I just let it go when it reached the no return point. Anytime I see someone riding a bike without a guard on I'm thinking "Just wait buddy you are going to regret that".

I rode a whole tank of gas and pulled into a small town to fill up and found out my legs were asleep. bummer. I didn't have any damage, and thank god someone liked my bike and was watching me roll into the pump. and was nice enough to lend a hand.

Damn.
No damage (I think).
What does it land on (Road king classic) when it's laid over (so I can double check).

Damn.

Have had My Ultra 4yrs now and went over 3 times. That was in the first 6mo of ownership. One learns from thier mistakes, Hopefully it won't happen again, but..............

I'm not crazy about the looks, but that is why I will never take my "engine guards" off. Please don't ever call them crash bars,it's bad luck. If it was slow speed, the guards should have done there job.

I had to lay my 07 EGC down once due to oil being on the ground at a station, crash bars and saddlebag guards are lifesavers, have never laid my current bike down, and there is no saddlebag protection, so I hope it doesn't happen, or at least not before I get the rear crash bar. Maybe I ought to think about getting one soon.

Yep, its "normal". Has happened a couple times with me. One time I was sitting in the motel parking lot talking, had been sitting on the bike for about 10 minutes or so. Got ready to go inside and just got off like normal. You guessed it, kick stand still up!! Fell down hill a little too. Was a little bit of a grunt for both me and the guy I was talking to to get it back up. But it didn't hurt a thing.

Been there done that. I am pretty short legged and pulled up to a stop light without realizing that I was in the middle of the tire ruts put my foot down like always but it was to far bike got heavy so I stepped out and gently laid her down. I had just watched the "Ride like a pro" dvd and what he teaches works, I got it up by myself. Everyone should watch that dvd.
