passing lamp bulbs

cant find what type bulb for passing lamp,wouldnt ya know it the manuel only gives a harley #.

55W H3 Any auto parts store has them. The HD ones are 35 watts. You do not need a whole new lamp like Harley will try to sell youy. Pull the rubber off the back of the passing lamp and the bulb is exposed.

What year? I "think" my 09 is a 881 (27w). I upgraded to a amber 894 (37w).

Autozone...

Has them for $7.99 ea. if I remember right...look for #881 with the the 90* plug. They also have 27.5W, 37.5W. If you look closely at the bulb the wattage will be listed.

881 would be the stock type bulb for your bike.
This is a PGJ13 angle base 27 watt clear bulb.
The 881 is rated at 300 hours lifespan.
A few other options would be ....
862 37.5 watt clear 1100 hours
886 50 watt clear 200 hours
889 27 watt clear 300 hours
894 37.5 watt clear 200 hours
896 37.5 watt clear 200 hours
898 37.5 watt clear 1100 hours
The 862 , 886 , 889 , 894 have clear tips , all others are black tip bulbs.

that makes lots more sense thx for the info, now im off to search for yellow bulbs,37.5 watts would be prefered but so far 50 watt is what im finding in yellow, will 50 work without melting the pluggs or wires or cookin switches?
