I called my dealer today and told them that I had seen the "recall" notice on the HD website and that I was wondering if I needed it since I had installed a Terry Systems Terminal Velocity II Fuel Management syetem on my bike. He said I would not need it since the TVII was a closed loop system and was doing the same thing, but better, than the download. However, if I got the letter to bring it and my bike by some time and they would put it in just to keep my bike up-to-date, but there is nothing to worry about with my configuration.

I had download today, not sure about C or D versions.Throttle response is much better but ot made my clatter worse.80 mph at @ 2800rpms at steady throttle, roll throttle on and the noise is loud.It will do it at lwr speeds and rpms but at that rpm it isnt lugging.Called HDs C/S and am waiting a reply. This is insane!

FYI... I called my dealer today to schedule the recall download, they promptly asked if I had done an A/C and pipes. I told them no, and asked why they had asked, thinking I would be told something about voiding the warranty. There response was that the first edition of the download was for stock bikes only, and the one due out in December was for bikes that had been modified. As it turned out I didn't get it done today, because of the weather.

This new HD download is suppose to reduce timing as told this by well known tuner. And why my bike is acting this way to it is odd since others have had no bad issues.

Correct me if I am wrong, but as I am reading the update, "C" is for stock bikes and "D" is for stage 1 bikes. The question is, am I correct????????????????????????

That's the same thing my dealer told me and seen as my bike is still stock I had it done yesterday. There seems to be different end results. What I found was that about 90% of 5th gear clatter that I got between 60 and 70 mph disappeared. I'm a little surprised people are getting different results from this download. If there are other improvements from this download they are so subtle I can't tell. I ride an 07 FLHRC

For the record, Thundercreek HD in Chattanooga is taking a "let us check it out approach"regarding the "recall". As time goes on, this clatter thing is becoming more and more blurred. Some say compensators, some say transmissions, some say auto tensioners, and now I am starting to hear "pinging". Hmmmmmm. My question, as the owner of a new '07 Ultra, what is the best analysis of the "clatter"? Mine developed it with at less than 10 miles on the way home (early Sept '06 purchase), almost turned around. Got the 1000 mile a little early, dealer did not test ride and read me the "official moco" memo about the tranny whine. Tried to explain about "clatter" around the primary, they couldn't get past "tranny whine". Thanks. Still love that sixth gear however.
