But, then again, some guys have done some strange things to their motorcycles ........... YES! Pictures would help ........ especially if it is a customized vacuum filter!
I had the same problem with my 07 I called K&N to find out what I had turns out in early 07 K&N had made a filter with different part #'s and didn't jive with the catalog you see on there web site just call them and give them your number they can check to see if it is a K&N product.
That looks like the "no-oil" filter that came with the HD Screaming Eagle round air cleaner. Replace it with an oiled K&N and ride.
BTW those "no-oil" filters had a tendency to develop holes, particularly if you ran an open filter. If you have one of those inspect it every time you service your bike.
