Yes, it is a Screaming Eagle Back plate. You can use a K&N HD-0800 as stated above or get a #880-212 from Drag Specialties if you don't want a Red filter. The DS one is White and you make it colored with the oil you use. It comes Blue new. Here is a pic of mine so you can see the backing plate is the same.

Not sure if HD still sells this but according to the install instruction sheet the HD P/N for the SE filter is 29442-99D.
BTW Just Dave what is on the cam cover in this pic. Looks like a grease turd???

I think that is the Paper Filter that can not be reused. I don't see anything on the Cam Cover, There is some lettering on it that says "Dream Harley Cycles" From the folks that did the 103" build. Maybe that is what you are seeing.
If you go here and open the PDF it is the HD instruction for the SE air cleaner kit. It shows the replacement PN but I haven't been able to find it at an on line store. That is not unusual though. Probably have to go to the dealer.
I know this is an older thread but I also have run into the 08226 filter on my 05 RG with a SE stage 1, was on there when I purchased the bike and couldn't cross reference or even find the damn number anywhere in an interweeb search which I found odd. Hopefully this will help anyone else who is about to throw out their unknown filter!
After looking it over and over again I couldn't find any distinguishing marks to try and determine which make it was so I would know to replace or clean and relube.
With one last shot at it I found what I was looking for on the metal seam holding the filter media together...... Very upsetting that this number isn't cross referenced on their site or anywhere on the internet?? Almost like they don't want you to find the number and relate it to K&N?

Email jamesj@knfilters.com James is a K&E engineer. He will fix you up. He's our K&Nsponsor on this site and one heck of a good guy.
Good chance K&N may have made it. Looks like mine. They probably made it for some company. They made my Harley SE filter back in 04. Just wash it in detergent, dry it, pour oil on it and wipe outside off. First couple days wrap a couple paper towels around it just in case it drips.

Thanks for the info, my bike came from Florida and the original owner had installed the SE stage one kit so it would be no surprise that this K&N filter(08266) was part of an HD only kit, not sold seperately, that's why the number doesn't appear on their site, strange it wouldn't appear somewhere on an internet search though? Bottom line is, it is a K&N filter so I will be washing and re-oiling, and not replacing for years to come :-)

Just my opinion but do not think it came from Harley. It would have a badge on it if it was Harley even if made by K&N. Harley's SE by K&N has rubber on each end. The K&N with K&N badge has metal like your's but your's does not have a K&N badge. The attachment was made by K&N but is Harley with badge. Note that the metal one like yours usually has a foam ring stuck on end to cushion front cover if you are using a big oval cover. I run just the inner Willie Skull and left foam off my K&N
