I'm currently running with a 8" Windvest flip windshield and am getting helmet buffeting at 70mph. Below that speed it works pretty good. I'm thinking of trying the LRS Ultra Flat top but would like some feedback before making another investment. I'm 5' 11" and the 8" windscreen seems to be the most comfortable for me to look over. I have tried a 9" but the top edge is in my line of site.
I'm 6'4" and have the stock 12" hd and considering going to the LRS 12" ultra. I have over 8k miles in 6 months and think the ultra will reduce the buffeting. Just can't decide on the tint <wink>
I can relate for sure.
I'm 5'8" and still run the Harley "tall" stock seat and have to run a 7" LRS Ultra to see over it.
I had a 8" LRS Ultra smoked and it was a pinch high for me.
I gave the 8" to a buddy , and he thinks it's the best thing since sliced bread.
Honestly , it's the best shield I have ever looked over , I've tried a few too.
Long Ride has a no problems guarantee that is hard to beat , you can't lose to try one anyway.
I really wanted to like my Klockwerks flare 6 1/2" , but it's too much wind for me.
Still get some major buffeting , but it's coming from below the fairing.
If you put your arm horizontal across your chest , see if most of it goes away.
The fork air deflectors help quite a bit , but they make the bike ride really warm , too warm in the summer for me.
If I open the fairing deflectors a bit , it helps too.
It helps if I remove the visor from my half helmet also.
Give them a try , you can't go wrong for the price and guarantee.
I will purchase again from them.
Mick
I ordered one just just the other day. I will let you know what I think of it when it gets here. I am hoping tomorrow it will be here. I went with the 9" med tint flat top.
I put the 11" light smoke on the limited.. Looks like it should have come with the bike. Knocked a little wind off my face, wife says less wind on her, so I guess the flip really works.
Been on since June, rode Colorado, Wyoming, and the Black Hills and back and gets a thumbs up from me.
