In all my years of riding I tried one "NON OEM" battery. All I can say is "Waste"!!!! OEM is all I will ever buy.

And I've never had a Cleaveland Steamer, but that doesen't mean I wouldn't like one.

OEM is probably the lowest bidder. Harley certianly doesnt build batterys, you know that, dont you? Your theory is not sound.

Next time you need a battery, give the Odyssey a try.

Yup! Bought one several years ago, plus their own tender. It worked a dream for around two years, then died. The tender still works a treat, but I won't buy another of their batteries. It was darned expensive and my factory batteries have always lasted much longer than that.

So here is what I have learned so far in this thread:

Whatever battery you run in your bike is the best and all the other one's suck.

Your a fool if you don't run what I do.

The OEM battery will last anywhere from 2years to 7 years

The OEM battery is made by Deka (correct)

The OEM battery is made by Yuasa (false)

The Odyssey charger will outlast the Odyssey battery by a huge margin.

I guess that settles that!!

That's a great summary! In more than 40 years of riding I have had batteries last as little as 6 months and as much as 11 years. As with everything else in life the more people you ask the greater variety of answers you'll get.
