I'm about to put 11.5" rears from Bitchin Baggers in. Hope that is enough. They say it should lower seat about an 1.25". Anybody else used them?

I was thinking of having them mod my shocks or just do the covette shock mod.

What is this "covette" mod you speak of?

There is a thread on here that goes through the conversion of using a late 60's Corvette air shock on the back of the bike. it goes from like 9.5" to 12" youll have to do a shearch.

Not that i'm aware of, i got the lowering spring kit from progressive. they had a offer that if you bought shocks they'd give you new springs for the front end either lowering or stock height. i got the lowering i'm vertically challenged as well and i done the chrome front end and lowered it this spring. it's not that bad of a job if you have most hand tools and a manual.

yup. you are correct. I went back to the dealer this morning to re-work my deal to include lowering the front end and took a good look - apparently the lowers are just matte aluminum and the cans are stainless steel.

I ended up going with the Progressive dual cartridge conversion for the front and the low profile air shocks for the rear...I know it's not the best choice for the rear, but it's cheap, it does the job for now, and I can replace them myself later without much effort. They WERE trying to convince me to get the chrome front end kit since they'd already have it apart anyway, and although I'd love to have done it, I just didn't want to drop another $500 for the parts - I could go with the shocks or the chrome, but not both. At the end of the day, I'd rather have the better handling front end than the pretty one.

I fitted Bitchin Bagger shocks to my RK a month ago and it lowered it about 1.5 inches, made me feel much more comfortable as I have a 29" seam. I rode 3000 miles with a passenger and luggage over 3 weeks and didn't have any discomfort. To me it is the best way to go, air shocks for comfort that can be adjusted to what you are carrying but still rides low
