Anyone one here have the baker DD7 or ever used one? I am interested in updating my tranny. I'm a little worried the stock tranny wont hold up with my motor mods. I like the baker stuff just never used the DD7 or ridden one or anything. The baker guys sware by them just wanted some input from people that have them
I don't have one, but last March at bike week in Daytona the guy's from baker were there and let you ride the bike with their transmission, if I had the extra $$$ or needed a transmission, it would be a no brainer, very smooth shifting and all the gears seem to be in the right place. They also had one on display side by side a regular OEM, the baker is a much better build.
I think it would be nice to go with my 120r. I hear the six gear indicator won't work, and the speedo recal is necessary. But I think TTS can redo the speedo. I'm not sure about the other tuners. But if TTS does it, I'm sure the others do too.
7 th gear is the same as the 6th gear if memory serves. (on stock six speed HD).
I have a DD7............on the floor next to me.I'll install it sometime this winter. The cruise drive is geared too high in first gear and i didn't want to compromise hiway cruising by going to a 30 tooth pulley. I'm also going for cams, headwork and a Baker +1.5 oil pan,as i am going to up my compression to 10:1.
Have not ridden one but a guy I ride with has one and loves it. If I remember right, there is a module on his bike that corrects the speedo. Baker is just across town from me, they are a first class operation.
