I just installed se 255 cams in my 09 RKC and will be going for an initial scoot tomorrow. Question is what should I be looking or listening for and is there a break-in period for things to work in properly. This is my first cam install and I am not sure what to expect. thanks
Thanks for replying. After I got everything I started it up and everything seemed to be ok. The idle fell back after it warmed up and it sounded quiet with no oil lights comming on. I will be looking to see if I need to tweek my pcv, I do have it set up for my power duals, ovals and se a/c but will see if it needs other mapping with a few rides under my belt. thanks again
The hardest part is getting that grin off your face. I love that first week of new cams. Did you do adj push rods or stockers. How did the tensioners look. Did you upvrade the inner cam bearings.

You definatly need to add a new MAP to the PC V to get the most out of the cams
Ok, well I just got back from my initial run and I do say that I have definitely increased the low end torque and the bark is a bit louder. Unfortunately my ride got cut short when I started to smell oil. At first I thought it was just some oil residue on the pipes from all the handling but when I came to the next stop light and looked down I started feeling uneasy seeing oil splashing on all my chrome. Fortunately I was not far from home so I was able to get back to my garage and check things out. I found the rear intake pushrod was blowing oil from the top o ring. So now I am waiting for her to cool down so I can get in there and get er done right! All in all everything else appears to be awesome, so it is just a minor set back. I'm just pissed because it's almost 70 degrees outside in NH, it's November and I should be riding. I'll keep ya all posted.
