Just curious, why did they need to re-bleed the brakes after the recall? Mushy brakes? Fluid leak?
They have to open the brake system to replace the brake light switch. Air can enter system while changing it.
If I was doing it myself I would try having a buddy slowly press down on rear brake pedal while I quickly switched out the switches. If fluid is coming out while the line is open no air should get in.
Not meaning to hijack the thread, but I have a question for everybody getting the recall, how are you notified? If it weren't for this forum, I wouldn't even know about it.
One of the service advisors called me the other day to let me know. I asked her, don't you already have me down to get it fixed? Supposed to be done next week when I get my 5,000 service done. She said, "oh yeah, sorry Danny. I just have this list with several hundred names and phone numbers on it that I have to call".
Made me feel better about the dealership as a whole.

Give your local dealer a call with your VIN and they will confirm if you need it done.
I remember this now.
Was at the HD dealer a couple weeks ago gittin a new back tire installed. Ask them if they knew about the brake recall. They said yes. Asked do you have the part. Yes we do.
Would you do the warranty work for me. Sure
Because of the catalyst converter, its heating up te break light switch. Makin either the brake light not come on, or the brake light switch is leakin break fluid.
I found out about the recall on this forum.I called my dealer about a week ago and asked to have it done, but they didn't have the new switches yet.I was in the dealer on tuesday and the S/M asked if I had time for them to do the recall, took them about a half hour and they bled the brake(non abs). Now my rear brake is better than it has ever been.Put my bike in storage yesterday and I received the recall notice in the mail today.

Local Dealer (Boswell's HD) sent me an email telling of the problem. Boswell's is a very well respected dealer here in Nashville.
Curious why Cool Springs HD - where I bought the bike, never did notify me. Interesting.
Had the recall done last week, perfect job in all ways, plus they confirmed that one of my front rotors was warped and replaced it for $0.
Wonder why I didn't have the work done at Cool Springs - Also Interesting...
I had it done today and I had to have them rebleed the brake......all is good now although my clutch has to be let almost all the way out till the friction zone grabs.....going to have to have that adjusted.
