Tires!!!
why is it there are no manufactures who can make a 76+ load rating, dual or tripple compound, radial tires for heavy baggers.
i love the handling of the michelin Pilot Road 2 Tires i had on my FJR and VFR
they lasted right around 9k - 11k and were very impressive in the rain, and stuck to the road in full lean.
these bias tires just feel to rigid, long lasting sure, but just dont feel like they have technology in them that sport touring tires have

You're riding on my prefered brand, although I haven't tried those sizes. Most of the Cobras are radial, so I can only guess that for the size you are using up front the load range of that cannot be met using a radial construction. The rear Venom is bias belted, which I have always assumed is sort of semi-radial and I also guess the same comment applies.
For our Harleys, if you look through Avon's website at those two ranges of tyres, or at other brands' websites, the sizes they make for us Harley owners tend to stand out! They are of higher load rating than most of the others and are often described as 'reinforced', or are belted amongst mostly radial ones. Seems to me that tells us something!
I believe that for the time being we are getting as close to radial tyres as we can, with current technology. I have been riding long enough to recall the time when radial tyres became common for cars and bike owners were demanding to know why we couldn't have them! The answer at the time was that the sidewalls couldn't be made strong enough for bike applications. Who knows, in time.....
