Scheduled mine with the 17.5k service next Thursday. I received no notice in the mail or otherwise. I saw about it on here and regularly check the HD website. I have owned cars and motorcycles for nearly 40 years and the only manufacturer that has ever notified me by mail of a recall is Volvo. Just my two cents.
Ditto! I had mine in the shop for 3 days this past week - This is the first I've heard of the recall. Some organization you got there HD (sarc!)

A few years back Ford had to do a recall on my wife's Ranger because of something with the cruise control somehow setting engines on fire. I got a recall notice from Ford, and although it was just a postcard it *was* something.
Like some others posting here, I'm disappointed HD hasn't bothered to contact me. I know they have my current address, both house and email.
I have never received a recall notice from HD and there has been 4 during the 2 years I've owned my Ultra: ABS calibration, tank mounts, front tire and brake switch.
The MoCo must be too busy blocking dealers and 3rd-party merchants from selling HD accessories at a discount & mailing reminders that my HOG membership is about to expire. <sigh>

Yea they sure send the dealer survey out fast enough after buying one. No recall notice here either. I guess The corporation is more concerned with getting good dealer feedback than customer safety. Glad I have front brakes that have no issues that I'm aware of.
ya see , thats what the dealer is doin,,if no service work is done,,then you get put off the list. If you need some work done,,then you go to head of class..so they can bill you for the extra time with your "service" work and shuffle it into manhours.. good luck..
Actually it is a big deal. There is a significant safety issue involved and owner are not being notified. You may wish to apologize for HD, but it shows a significant lack of concern for owners and riders.
I have yet to receive any notification either from the selling dealer, they certainly know who I am, or HD corporate. I have had it done while on a trip when I stopped by a dealer in Trussville AL for another issue and they offered to do it if I could wait the extra 30 minutes. I did.
Apparently, unless you visit a forum like this or know someone who does, you may never hear about the recall. That is a total lack of regard and consideration for their customer.
Another classic case of making assumptions based upon intrepretation.. No big deal meant that it was dealt with as a maintenance item of which it was when I went to see my dealer. Me appoligizing for HD ,or showing a lack of concern for others is complete BS. I don't see that was the case, however I think that you should consider appoligizing to me for your outlandish comments about me, since you really don't know me and you are acting like someone who forgot to take their medication.. Go to the HD website. There is a section of it where you can enter your VIN and discover recalls that apply to your bike.
Thats what I did.....I know there is a recall on my bike, and I will eventually bring it it I don't hold myself in such high regard that I expect to get a written invite.
Show us a link, i can't find anything on HD USA site for this
it applies to 2012 models that were built before october.

or you can go to the hd website, put in your vin number and it will tell you what recalls/campaigns affect you specifically.
i'm not 'apologizing' for hd, but i fail to understand these folks that know about the recall, took there bike in and had the recall performed, and are now bitching that they weren't notified

Yeah but having front brakes doesn't help any of us much if the damn thing blows a hole in it and brake fluid dumps on the ground right in front of or on your rear tire while cruisin'.
